30x30 Day 28

SDC10747SDC10749SDC10753

Oh, its the last day of February! So spring is in the air and round the corner! I mustn’t forget I’m still missing day 19, so its 3 more outfits then I’m done.

I really miss my lousy little tripod, since it broke my picture taking has been made infinitely more difficult!  I need to get something else sorted out before I go mad.

Although I’m getting seriously irritated with my 30 items, (half of which I HAVE to get rid of once the challenge is over), I love how I am staying motivated to take outfit pictures as well as putting together something sensible.

I’ll try to post a few pictures from our weekend away once the 30x30 is over. I am definitely going to try starting to edit my pictures. I’ve heard Piknik is popular so may give this a go.

I am so tempted to log into my ebay saved searches page, but I’ll hold off if I can…..

30x30 Days 25, 26 & 27

I’ve had a pretty busy and unusual weekend away. We went to Market Harborough in Leicestershire in Friday evening and stayed until this morning. So I posted my lousy post of FBFF nominations from my phone. that was sooo difficult and time consuming, but I managed it. So here are my outfits from day 25, 26 and 27. I took them as well as I could in our hotel room (which was tiny).

Day 25:

Day 27:

So, apologies for my lack of posting and now my picture heavy post. I love the last outfit the best. No cooking this weekend, for the first time this year…

Hope I’ll get back on track with posting and cooking etc.

30x30 Day 24

SDC10693SDC10696SDC10699

This is quite a fun outfit. I thought to play on the collar I tied a pink scarf as a tie. I so love this knitted tank top. To be honest the shirt is a bit too tight so I must get rid of this too once the challenge is over.

Last night I tried to make a list of outfits for the  remainder of the challenge. I don’t much like any of them.oh well. May need a rethink.

Contrary to yesterday’s post I ate another bit of that now hated chocolate torte then binned the small remainder. Good riddance!

Just noticed the clothes on the floor have sneaked into today’s pictures. God, I need a tidy up., I do apologise.

The weather today was glorious, sunny and warm. So hope this is the start of things to come!

30x30 Day 23

SDC10689SDC10691SDC10692

Today was another one of those days whereI got back from work late and tired. Popped this outfit on for a few snaps then showered and got into pj’s for an easy snuggly evening.

So sorry for this slightly lazy outfit post, I picked the pink jumper I am having trouble wearing with anything else.

Today is the last day I’m touching that ruddy chocolate torte.

I need to be super organised for the next week so I’m going to have to plan the last lot of remix outfits so that I can figure out how  to dress. Oh this is so not me! I would have worn the same outfit at least three times by now. I love the fact that I’m being challenged though.

30x30 Day 22

SDC10685

SDC10686SDC10687SDC10688

Day 22. I wish I hadn’t included these jeans as every time I wash them they get shorter. Now they’re far too short! Must get rid of them once I’m done on my challenge.

Third day of eating the chocolate torte and now feeling slightly queasy each time I see it in the fridge.

Just a quick post today I’m afraid, just feeling a bit tired and am behind with reading all the great blog updates I follow. Hello and welcome to my shiny new followers Smile

Thank you to my wonderfully supportive regular followers and commenters, you’re great x

30x30 Day 21

SDC10669SDC10665SDC10663

I have worn these boots so much. I love everything about them, the colour, the style, the comfyness… Just can’t resist them.

Had second portion of terribly gooey chocolate torte today, we’re nearly half way through it. I am counting down the days before I can shop again. I haven’t been able to sign in to eBay or browse any shops since I started the 30x30 as I know I’ll crumble and buy.  things…

Oh and btw, my lousy pics  are even lousier than usual since my mini tripod broke several days ago in spectacular fashion by launching itself and my camera off the table. I was lucky my camera survived actually.

Day 20 and Chocolate Torte

SDC10644

The promised Chocolate Torte has been made. Here is my adapted recipe and pics from the making Smile Enjoy! Now bear in mind mine went not so well, this is seriously sweet and calorific! Contains a whole tin of condensed milk (delish) The original recipe asked for plain choc and 6tbsp of brandy or orange liqueur. Far too grown up for me!

Ingredients:

75g unsalted butter

150g crushed digestive biscuits

397g can of condensed milk

450g milk chocolate

300ml double cream

Method:

Melt the butter and stir into the crushed biscuits. Press into the base of a 20cm loose bottomed cake tin and chill in fridge.

SDC10631SDC10632

SDC10634

Melt the chocolate and, condensed milk in a large bowl sitting over a saucepan of simmering water. Once its all melted together leave it to chill for a few minutes.

SDC10633SDC10635SDC10636SDC10637

Whisk in the double cream, using an electric whisk, pour the mix over the biscuit base. Leave to chill for over 5 hours.

SDC10640SDC10641

Once chilled it still may flop hideously. But fear not, disguise it with whipped cream.

SDC10650SDC10652SDC10656

OK so 6 hours later and the whole thing has collapsed. If there is one thing I really like is a good laugh, and I had a great laugh when this failed. However, It sill tastes amazing but every mouthful holds more calories than I would dare to count…

Day 20? I’m losing track! This cute hitched skirt came out again.

Welcome and hello to my lovely new followers and thank you to everyone for their lovely comments left this week. All very much appreciated Smile

30x30 Day 19 and Sea Bass sort of dinner

19.02.11

Day 19, and yes I realise day 18 is missing. Moving on… Today the sky was grey so here it is reflected in my outfit. I think the tights add a touch too many. It was cold so I needed a bit of warmth.

SDC10617SDC10621

This is what we cooked this evening from Jamie Oliver’s 30 Minute Meal book “Sea Bass & Crispy Pancetta, Sweet Potato Mash, Asian Greens, 1-Minute Berry Ice Cream, Sparkling Ginger Drink”

Of course we didn’t actually make the ice cream or ginger drink…. Not really liking the iced or drinky stuff in this collection. To be quite honest what we made does not really resemble the recipe…. The sea bass at Waitrose was £24.99/kg. So we would need about £8 worth! What?! So we bought cod (responsibly sourced, line caught) for half the price.. We didn’t use fennel seeds or fresh coriander (we use ground coriander) , or sesame oil or mango chutney… So who knows how it would have turned out  if we’d actually followed the recipe.

But in terms of what we produced. The cod was bland, bland bland. Tasted of nothing at all. Shame! The sweet potato mash got mixed thoughts, I loved it, but my hubby hated it! The Asian greens were tangy but really nice.  We have no intention of ever repeating this recipe! That’s our take on it anyhow Smile

Tomorrow I hope to make a chocolate tort. Pics if I do!

30x30 Days 16 & 17

SDC10595

Day 16 and I finally got to wear my hutched  blue skirt. How cute. Quite like it and the weather was mild enough so i didn’t freeze.

SDC10600SDC10601SDC10605

Day 17. I went along to Norwich Fashion Week Launch party catwalk show, so I had this dress in mind for it while I was planning my 30x30 items, so I had little choice but to wear it! Love it., especially with my quirky black heels and boyfriend blazer. Sorry, its another short post… Must do better!
