Holy shift

28.1.12a28.1.12g28.1.12d28.1.12f28.1.12h28.1.12b

Dress – Primark via ebay, Shirt – unknown brand via charity shop, tights – Primark (gift), boots – via TK Maxx, short charm necklace – M&co, long watch necklace – Primark, bracelet (gift).

I adore this dress although it is incredibly short, virtually indecently so.

These are the first photos I’ve posted where I’m sporting my new lighter foundation. I think it’s working and looks kind of natural. It’ll do (thank goodness).

These mustard supercosy tights are really getting a good lot of use, but they seem to look good with so much.

What can’t you do without this winter?

Bearing little resemblance to Taylor Swift

It’s Inspiration Monday over at Two Birds and today’s look is supplied by Taylor Swift

And here is me!

Well it may not look much like Taylor Swift’s look but I DO love the bold mix of mustard cardi and red plaid trousers.

I do wonder whether I should start editing my outfit shots, other than the cropping and resizing that I already do. The thing is that I don’t take myself too seriously, or put across that I’m in some way vain by trying to falsify my look. Thoughts?

A night at The Grange

We spent a night at The Grange Hotel near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk back in early December. I took some photographs to share with you all

I just LOVE staying in hotels, so it made a lovely night away.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal in the restaurant, pictures coming tomorrow.

I like the way you mauve

24.1.12b24.1.12a24.1.12c24.1.12d24.1.12e

I thought I’d talk about my experiences with zumba. I daresay everybody’s experience of it are different, so don’t let my account put you off. Please note I do still attend zumba once a week and quite enjoy it!

There are a few facts that seems to be very apparent from the class I go to.

  • The music is deafeningly loud. Any instructions shouted at us are lost.
  • The instructor is IN shape, the participants all want to look like that, but one hour of zumba a week does not work magic!
  • I’m pretty sure the routines are never the same twice, so we all go wrong if we’re not following properly.
  • The ‘sexy’ manoeuvres make me feel slightly ill. I don’t like wiggling my bits or posing, especially in front of the mahoosive mirror and I’d really prefer not to have to see anyone else trying it either.

Meh. Maybe you’ve been to a class where everyone is young, fit and attractive… but somehow I think they only exist in the adverts.

Tunic in winter

23.1.12a23.1.12b23.1.12c23.1.12d23.1.12e

I wore this tunic as a dress back in summer but it think it works just as well as part of a layered winter look.

Rather short on words today, but at least I posted an outfit, ok? x

A good foundation

22.1.12a22.1.12b22.1.12c22.1.12d

This is what I wore Sunday for just staying at home.

I did buy a book yesterday, but thinking about it, no idea when I will read it, maybe on holiday???

I had to buy a replacement for my foundation. Annoyingly, I’m too pale at this time of year for my regular one (which if I’m honest is a little too orange even at the height of summer, but I’ve got away with it so far). So I also bought a lighter shade. Touch wood it suits me.

My hubby made some wonderful fishcakes for tea. Smoked haddock, mashed potato, spring onions and mozzerella. Marvellous!

Yesterday I received a lovely surprise parcel from Trayci of Please May I which really brightened my day.

Turned out to be a bit of a random post after all.

Fixed with a belt

21.1.12a21.1.12b21.1.12c21.1.12d21.1.12e

Remember this sack dress that was a love/hate 50-50 split? Well I belted it and I think it looks rather nice now. The birdy shirt snuck in underneath too. I picked up this supercute necklace/watch from Primark last week. It may be old news to you but I hadn’t seen any before and I think it’s just lovely.

This was Saturday’s outfit for a ride out to a couple of small market towns for a browse. Not much was bought but I did enjoy the change of scene and a good poke around rarely visited charity shops.
